Rainforest Alliance

The Rainforest Alliance is an international NGO that certifies the sustainability of companies and agricultural activities in the rainforest. The aim is to protect biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by changing farming methods, business practices and consumer behaviour. The RFA has a well-earned reputation for its strict controls and strictly adheres to the nine requirements that certification must meet.

It took only three years for the communities of the first Tierra project (Peru, Honduras and Colombia) to be awarded RFA certification (2005). You will see The Rainforest Alliance label on all Tierra products.
